The Commonwealth (Pakistan suspended after the October 1999 coup).
In our world
The modern Commonwealth dates from the London Declaration of 1949, which let republics like India stay in. By 2000 it had fifty-four members; Pakistan was suspended after the coup of October 1999.
In TND
For Britain, outside the European Union since 1997, the Commonwealth is no longer nostalgia but strategy: a trading world to replace the single market. And unlike in our world, the Union flag still flies over Hong Kong.
