TND - The New Dawn: A Modern Day Mod starts Hearts of Iron IV on 1 January 2000: modern borders and states, the leaders and parties of 2000 with painted portraits, advisors and commanders, new countries (Palestine, Abkhazia, Transnistria, Northern Cyprus, Somaliland, Kaliningrad and more) and the tech tree re-dated to run from 1970 to 2030.
It is not quite our world. In 1986 Moscow covered up Chernobyl, and the rebellion that followed tore the Soviet Union apart in 1988. A harder Gulf War and an Anglo-American intervention in Yugoslavia broke NATO, and Europe built a Defence Union of its own. Read the timeline for the whole story.
What's in the wiki
- The Modern World - the lore: the timeline from Chernobyl to 2000, the world on the day the game begins, and the factions and blocs.
- Mechanics - the systems every country lives with: world tension, the 2008 crash, nuclear restraint, the European Defence Union.
- Countries - a page for every nation with lore or a tree of its own: the situation in 2000 (industry, resources, armed forces), every potential leader by ideology, an interactive preview of its focus tree, a path guide for every road and a mechanic guide for every system it has. Browse them on the map or the country list.
Tip
Every path guide and mechanic guide is also in the game: look for the free Path Guide and Mechanic Guide decisions. This wiki is generated from the same text, so the two always agree.
