Installing TND

Get the mod into Hearts of Iron IV and start a game on 1 January 2000.

Note

TND's Steam Workshop page is coming soon. Until then, ask in the Discord for the current build.

Requirements

Hearts of Iron IV 1.19.x. No DLC is required.

Enabling it

  1. Subscribe to TND on the Steam Workshop (once the page is up).
  2. Add it to a playset - start the Paradox launcher, open Playsets and add TND - A Modern Day Mod.
  3. Play - press Play and pick The New Dawn (1 January 2000) on the start screen.

Don't combine it with other mods that change states, countries, bookmarks or technologies.

Troubleshooting

  • The game crashes on load: make sure the game is on 1.19.x, and remove any other mods from the playset.
  • Something looks wrong in game: the log is at Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV\logs\error.log - post it in the Discord.

What if Chernobyl had broken the Soviet Union? In 1986 Moscow buried the disaster, Ukraine rose, and by 1988 the Union was gone. A bloodier Gulf War and a split over Yugoslavia ended NATO, and Europe built a Defence Union of its own. TND starts Hearts of Iron IV on 1 January 2000 in that world - real leaders, modern armies, and a unique focus tree for every major nation - and lets you decide what the new century becomes.
